Non-Stone Outdoor Statuary and Plaques

The following designs are either poly resin, fiber stone or fiberglass, not actual stone, but can still be placed outside.   Some folks prefer these materials to actual stone...that is a personal choice.  Poly resin is as it states, a resin.  This material can be cast with any texture from smooth to "rock like."  Fiber stone is a mixture of sand and stones placed into the surface to give the appearance of aged stone, however, since its reinforced with a fiberglass backing, its lightweight and less fragile than concrete.   Fiberglass, of course, has the benefit of being quite lightweight, yet durable.    Each of these are hand-detailed, so please expect slight variations.    These are also made to order and shipped directly, so please allow 3 - 4 weeks for delivery.

Hawthorne Fairy Planter

"The Yoho"
This statue reminds me of a griffin found on the island of Tuckernuck, where my family owns a rustic cottage - - my favorite place on Earth.  (My Grandmother actually grew up there).  There are only about 35 houses on the entire island, the oldest built in the mid-18th century (that would be the 1700's kids).   His wings are pointed up instead of down, but he's as close as I've found.   No one knows where the original statue came from, and its been there for as long as anyone can remember.   Although the statue itself isn't the Yoho, it represents the ghostly spirit that is said to guard Captain Kidd's buried treasure.  All who know the island have heard its call and shudder when the eerie cry is heard when the whistling winds blow over the dunes.  The Tuckernuck spirit is really there.  I've heard it myself.   "To be convinced you need only a Tuckernuck beach, solitude, an understanding ear, and a southeast storm."  "Beware the Yoho!"
